Greater Manchester 4 Piece 2019

Well done to all of our gymnasts who had a very successful competition at the county championships last weekend.

The club entered 10 gymnasts into the competition which hosted over 130 gymnasts from across the county. These 10 gymnasts won a superb 13 medals between them of which 7 were gold.

Competing at Regional Level 6 Lana Clarke gave an amazing performance in a strong field at her first individual county competition. Rae O’Neil was crowned the Regional Level 6 Age 11 bar champion as well as taking the 3rd place spots on beam and floor and 2nd place overall. Imogen Rayner also became the Regional Level 6 bar champion in the Age 9 category and took the overall 3rd place position.

The Regional Level 5 competitions held yet more success for Vernon Park Gymnastics Club. In the Age 11 category Lila Norton placed 3rd on vault, Gabrielle Pastore became the 2019 champion on bars. On the beam Lucy Beattie took the 4th place spot whilst Lila was crowned the beam champion. In the floor competition great execution and artistry with Gabrielle taking 2nd place and Lila 1st place. The overall Level 5 Age 11 championships was won by Lila, with Gabrielle taking 2nd place.

In the Age 10 Regional Level 5 category Isabelle McGrath produced a great bar routine to take 4th place whilst in the Age 13+ category Ellie Moore placed 3rd on Beam and wowed the judges with her new floor routine to become the 2019 floor champion.

At Regional Level 4 Senior level Vault & Bars were championed by Georgina Drury who was one of very few gymnasts to successfully compete the very difficult tsukahara vault over weekend, Amelia Kennedy competed a sturdy routine to take 3rd place on beam & Georgina took second place overall.
